On 28th Aug, 2017, DreamZone centre in Alambagh organised a Tie and Dye workshop for their fashion students. Also known as lehriya, bandini or shibori, tie and dye is a resist dyeing technique used to block areas in fabric from absorbing the dye/colour which results in the beautiful patterns. This traditional method of reserve dyeing is native to Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Participants tried their hands on knotting of fabric to create interesting patterns and gave them a chance to explore different printing and dyeing techniques. A growing interest in this field has lead designers to showcase collections made completely out of such fabrics.
